Jan 21, 2017 · After I re-enabled and restarted the computer, BAM, all passwords were back up and working. Google "credential manager", I'm pretty sure it was inside services. I didn't even have to re-enter all my passwords, they were still all saved, just not working without the credential manager running.

For firefox 3, delete the file called signons3.txt.
